報告摘要： A brief recount of the development history of automatic control is presented from a personal perspective of the speaker. Topics covered include classical ones, such as: Maxwell’s analysis of governor stability, state space representation, Kalman filter as well as personal favorites such as realization theory, nonlinear filtering and developments in networked control.

報告人簡介：Wong Wing Shing（黃永成），香港中文大學教授（榮休），國際電氣電子工程師學會終身會士（Life Fellow, IEEE），香港工程師學會會士（FHKIE），香港工程科學院院士（FHKIE）。研究領域包括無線通信、網絡編碼、網絡化控制等。他獲得耶魯大學學士碩士雙學位，哈佛大學博士學位。1982年加入AT&T貝爾實驗室工作并晉升為管理主任，后加入香港中文大學，歷任該校信息工程系主任、研究生院院長、善衡書院院長等職務。他曾借調到香港特別行政區創新科技署出任科學顧問，擔任香港應用科技研究院董事局董事和科技委員會主席。曾任IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control副主編，創辦國際期刊Communications in Information and Systems并任聯合主編，是中國自動化學會第七屆理事會理事，東南大學客座教授，東北大學秦皇島兼職教授，第48屆IEEE CDC暨第28屆中國控制會議的大會報告人之一。
